NEPAL TRAVEL BOOK, KATHMANDU: Money is very important in life. It can be take as one of the most necessary things. Yes!!! money can’t buy you happiness but without money, life will stumble. Saving money is therefore good idea for everyone. Here are some tips on how to save money:
- Decide where to use money: Making decisions on where to use the money is very essential. This decision will help and lead you to save as well as utilize your money. Do not buy the things that you do not need. This idea may sound lame but it is the most important one.
- Buy things in bulk: Buying things in bulk will let you save money. This will not only let you save money but will also save you time and effort.
- Invite friends over. Almost every activity at home is less expensive than going out. Invite some friends over and have a cookout or a potluck meal, then play some cards and have a few drinks. Everyone will have fun, the cost will be low, and the others will likely reciprocate not long afterwards.
- Go through your closets and try to get rid of some of the stuff in there. You can have a yard sale with it, take it to a consignment shop, or even donate it for the tax deduction – all of which turn old stuff you don’t want to use any more into money in your pocket. Not only that, it’s often a psychological load off your mind to clean out your closets.
- Whenever possible, borrow your books instead of buying them. The card to your public library is free and the libraries are generally well stocked. In my city, the chain of public libraries is connected and the available books can be checked online. If there is some book that I cannot find in my local branch, I can make a request online for it to be brought in from one of the other branches to mine which is very convenient.
