Patan Durbar Square, situated in the heart of the city, constitutes the focus of the visitors attraction.The square is full of ancient palaces, temples and shrines, famous for their exquisite carvings.
The main attraction of the Durbar Square is the ancient Royal Palace itself. It consists of three main chowka or courtyards, the central Mul Chowk, Sundari Chock, and Keshav Naravan Chock. In the north eastern corner of the courtyard is the tripleroofed octagonal tower of Taleju Bhawani Temple build by king center a masterpeice of stone architecture, the royal bath called Tusahity. Between the central Mul Chowk and Mani Keshav Naravan Chowk, there is a temple of Degu Taleju.
