Heli-Air’s First Gyrocopter ready for Test Flight

Heli-Air, the newly established helicopter company whose base hub is Tribhuvan International Airport, is ready for the Test flight of its one of the gyrocopter that arrived on March 10, 2017.

The assembling process of Heli Air’s recently arrived two gyrocopter helicopter (9N-AMK, 9N-AMR) has been completed. The process was carried out by the engineering team at Shree Airlines Hangar (East Helipad).


According to the officials of Heli-Air, all the documentation processes have already been completed and the helicopter is waiting for the test flight. Heli-Air plans to conduct the test flight soon and the helicopter will come into operation shortly after the successful completion of test flight.

A gyrocopter is a type of rotorcraft that produces lift using an unpowered rotor in autorotation. It is the much more advanced form of Ultralight aircraft.


Currently, Heli Air has French Instructor Pilot Eric Guy Freydic with them. Soon, these two birds will be in the Nepalese sky.

Heli Air is also planning to add two Bell 505 helicopters to their fleet and also third gyrocopter is almost ready to join the copmpany. It is also building a 145 maintenance hangar in Pokhara Airport which can conduct maintenance of Bell 505 and AS 350 B3e helicopters.
