JANAKPUR, Sept 11: At least two people were killed and 20 injured when the police opened fire at the protestors disobeying curfew in Janakpur on Friday afternoon.
Those deceased have been identified as Nitu Yadav, 14, of Jamuniya and Sanjay Chaudhary of Mahendranagar, police said.
Police preveted the protestors from entering the main town through Janakpur Cigarette Industry area by resorting to firing tear gas canisters.
All the injured are receiving treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
