Over Rs 4.45 million deposited in PM Relief Fund

Over Rs 4.45 million deposited in PM Relief Fund
12 June, Kathmandu : Various organisations including the Dolpa Society handed over more than Rs 4.45 million to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala for depositing the amount in the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.


The representatives of these organisations handed over the amount to the Prime Minister at his official residence in Baluwatar this morning.

On the occasion, Chairman of the Dolpa Society Lama Rimpochhe handed over Rs 700,000 to the PM. The amount was collected from the Buddhist monks from Dolpa district under the leadership of the lawmaker representing the district, Dhan Bahadur Budha.

Similarly, the Pun Samaj Nepal, an organisation of the Pun Magar people across the country, handed over a cheque for Rs 207,700 to the Prime Minister. The Samaj has also distributed relief materials worth approximately Rs 1 million to the earthquake survivors in Tanahu, Myagdi and Kaski districts.

Likewise, the Nepal Pashmina Association deposited Rs one million; the Sahayog and Sarokar Kendra, Dhulikhel Rs 500,000; and the Rastriya Awas Company Rs 200,000 in the PM Relief Fund.

A cheque for Rs 121,375 was also handed over to the Prime Minister. The amount was collected from the Nepali, Indian, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Chinese workers working in Venus Ceramics Company in Malaysia. The assistance was collected at the initiatives of the Nepali workers from Bhojpur district. The amount is to be deposited in the Fund through lawmaker Sherdhan Rai.

Likewise, Ninamma Rai who works in Germany handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 to the PM.
