Bhaktapur district court of Nepal sentenced a trafficker named Tau Bahadur with 10 years of imprisonment. He was fined with one hundred thousand rupees. Additionally, he has to pay fifty thousand rupees as compensation to the survivor (plaintiff)
The man had sold the plaintiff belonging to Jagati, Bhaktapur for two hundred thousand rupees in Nagpur India. The perpetrator had enticed the plaintiff with fake assurances of job opportunities .Before being sold Tau Bahadur and his wife had brutalized the plaintiff with inhumane tortures and assault.
The plaintiff had to undergo repeated rapes. She was confined within a room and denied access to meet her son. Later she was rescued by Maiti Nepal.
Maiti Nepal facilitated the whole process of prosecution and ultimately the District Court of Bhaktapur granted Justice.
