NEPAL TRAVEL BOOK, KATHMANDU: Once you have under-eye bags, they’re almost impossible to get rid of without cosmetic surgery, and we know how expensive that can be. However, here are some remedies for bags under eyes.
  1. Puffiness is a manifestation of excess fluid retention. By addressing your body’s tendency to tuck fluid away, you may be able to indirectly reduce swelling around your eyes.cucumbers, tea bags, potato slices and spoons might be able to help. When any of these items are cooled and placed on the eyes, they can help reduce puffiness for one simple reason. Cold restricts blood vessels, which can reduce swelling.
  2. If your puffiness is the result of fluid retention, you might be able to alleviate it by sleeping with an extra pillow to elevate your head at night. It will help drain the fluid out of your face.
  3. Another popular home remedy for under-eye puffiness is hemorrhoid cream, but you should be careful with this one. It might be able to reduce the appearance of those bags, but you’re more likely to end up with irritated eyes instead. You’re better off trying to live a healthier lifestyle and using hemorrhoid creams for hemorrhoids.
  4. Use strawberry jam. Strawberries were considered to be the fountain of youth in ancient Chinese medicine. Strawberry purée mixed with sterile water may also be used as a monthly enema. This helps with fluid retention as well as increasing colon health.
  5. Strange as it sounds, Vaseline cream, which is meant to reduce swelling, may work well. Be careful not to get it in your eyes. This only works if you live in Canada, as Vaseline creams in the U.S. are no longer made with the active ingredient that reduces swelling.
  6. If you have puffy eyes all day, it could be that you’re simply not getting enough sleep, or the quality of the sleep you are getting is poor. Puffiness under the eyes is a common symptom of sleep deprivation.
  7. Puffiness is a manifestation of excess fluid retention. By addressing your body’s tendency to tuck fluid away, you may be able to indirectly reduce swelling around your eyes.
