Background:
Chitwan National Park is one of the oldest and famous national park of Asia, rich with flora and fauna. It encompasses an area of 360 sqmiles ( 932 sq kilometer) of sub-tropical forests comprising of grasslands, sal forests and riverine forests. It is set against the backdrop of the Great Himalayas. This park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including several threatened species. Here, inside the park, you will discover towering trees, twisting vines, thick grassland, roaming pre-historic rhino, lumbering elephants, crocodiles, python, brilliantly colored birds, insects, butterflies and if you are fortunate the superb majestic Royal Bengal Tiger. It is the bird watcher's paradise, with over 560 species of resident and migratory birds having been identified. So far it is the well known managed and well protected National Park in Asia that is blended into pristine environment.
Chitwan National Park is bounded by the three major different Rivers of chitwan. Rapti on north, Rue in the south and Narayani in the west. Chitwan National Park is the adjoining with one of the wildlife reserve in the eastern part, Parsa Wildlife reserve. Churia hill goes parallel along with the Mahabharat range on the north then beyond this is Great Himalayas. October, November, December is the best months to see the snowcapped mountains from the Resort itself.

Access to Chitwan National Park:

  1. By Air: It is just a 25 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Bharatpur. A pickup bus servic is provided from the airport itself. This scenic bus drive goes through the country side towards Chitwan National Park
  2. By Overland: These drive takes approx. 5-6 hours on the tourist coach, which leaves every day from Kantipath, Kathmandu and from Pokhara through the town of Narayanghat till sauraha. The drive has the lively environment with different landscape, beautiful scenary and the parallel drive along the famous white river rafting current the Trishuli River.
  3. By Raft: This is one of the very exciting way to go down to Chitwan National Park. You can enjoy white water rafting plus views of the mountain. At the end of the raft trip, you will get picked up from a pickup point.
