One can see and explore the Buddhist paintings mostly inside Dzong, Goembas and Lhakhang. Every painting resembles a major figure including the Guru Rinpoche and Sakyamuni Buddha. Also another form of common form of art among Bhutanese is the Four Friends known as the Thuenpa Puen Shi, which depicts the concept of teamwork and mutual understanding among four friends (elephant, monkey, rabbit and the bird). You can witness the Thanka Paintings and you can also buy one for yourself as they are available on Handicraft stores.
