SSB obstructs fencing activities in Nepali territory |
The office had begun planting the saplings after removing the encroachments in area. Though the land falls in Nepali territory, the Indian side has claimed that the area was disputed, locals said.
The Arra Rivulet of the area is the border line between Nepal and India. However, SSB personnel obstructed the fencing works claiming that the land remained under dispute, said Ranger at the office Rabindra Khanal. The Gautam Buddha Collaborative Forest had initiated the fencing of some 9.8 hectares of territory.
Similarly, Chief District Officer Binod Prakash Singh said the case has been reported to the higher authority for necessary action while he also is trying to resolve the issue after holding a dialogue with the neighbouring Indian authorities.
