Tips for Menstrual Problems |
NEPAL TRAVEL BOOK: Here are some
tips for menstrual problems for the women who want to live stress free life during their menstrual periods.
- Where likely– take it easier on the first few days of your period (or pre-period if getting symptoms) – if you can’t take it easy on all days (work etc), the first day of your cycle is most important. If your period is predictable, where possible try not to schedule long travel, hectic work days, entertaining at home etc on those days (particularly Day 1).
- Eat light/easy to assimilate food – this will allow your body to maximize the revitalizing effects of the menstrual cycle.
- Drink lots of water. You can also take juice.
- Eat or drink citrus fruits with your meals to enhance iron absorption into the body, since iron is easily depleted during menstruation
- Dried apricots are high in iron, which is significant during menstruation because iron provisions can be useless with heavy bleeding. Other iron-rich foods are: liver, legumes, shellfish, and fortified breads and cereal
- Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic belongings that relieve cramps. Use as a tea, or sprinkle on toast or sweet rolls. If you have a heavy period, drinking cinnamon tea the day before or during your period may help.
